In some ways, Syracuse is a unique institution because it has both football and basketball history, which should allow branding relevance pretty much all year round.  Orange should be prevalent from September through April.  The Dome is in use during that same time.  Maybe a handful of other schools have an established history in both football and basketball.

It's astonishing how bad Syracuse is at branding considering it houses the best Comm should in the world.  The lack of consistency with uniforms, retiring jerseys, retiring numbers, celebrating touchdowns, etc., is symbolic of the state of the football program.  This is getting far afield from uniforms, but just look at what happens when we score a touchdown - the announcer yells, we have a train whistle, and a bell is rung.  It's a muddled mess.  (kinda like this post- sorry this post turned into a rambling steam of consciousness)
