Guessing new jersey drops next week for Clemson
This is not the New Jersey you are looking for...There is no new jersey. I mean there's a New Jersey, but...
Isn't that a line from a movie? Superfund Site Wars? This is not the New Jersey you are looking for...
My bad, missed the clarification. Was later clarified they weren't coming in 2017.
So therefore...
We will probably see them next week
In keeping with the theme of this thread, I watched the Thursday night game last night between the Patriots and the Bucs.
Both teams wore the monochrome uniforms - the Bucs were unrecognizable - the Patriots were close to unrecognizable.
And that's the issue for me.
I have no skin in the game for New England or Tampa Bay.
But when I turn on my TV, I want to see the brand for each team.
It is that brand - that recognition - that makes the game appealing.
Because neither team was recognizable - neither presented its actual brand - I found the game less appealing.
If I were to travel to Ohio State for a game and the Buckeyes were to come out wearing all black or all platinum, I would feel cheated because I came to the game, in part, to see the classic scarlet and gray uniforms, with the silver helmets and the buckeye decals. I would feel the same way if I were to travel to Yankee Stadium and the team were to come out wearing all blue uniforms without the pinstripes.
And that is where Nike and the rest I think are missing the boat.

They're not missing the boat because people buy them.
Yes, that's the presumption. I wonder how many folks actually buy the stuff.
Those uniforms are the best. The ones during Marrones time were second best. I'd love to see these again and never change. The Patriots just wore white pants w their traditional uniform. It wasn't a giant departure. I actually liked the look. I hate how the NFL won't let them use Pat Patriot b/c it's a separate helmet and they can't have 2 helmets.
All I ask for with Syracuse is a throwback uniform per year. Go with 1998, 1988, 1959 vintages...just having those 3 on a yearly basis would satiate the old farts like me who like the traditional. Figure out a better "modern" uniform w numbers I can read.
I'd like to see the school go back to the pants having the numbers on them. That was uniquely Syracuse. Go back to something like that.

Mrs Crusty calls uniforms costumes just to pull my chain. Now the joke is on her because they have become costumes. We have the worst costumes in CFB
Still gets me horny.
Every week.
