I am going to chose what I feel the top 25 should be based on performances. For the sake of this exercise I did not do a pre-season top 25. I want to base the teams on how I felt they performed and vs who. The point is to see how far off i am from the standard AP and Coaches poll. 1. Alabama - Dominant performance over FSU 2. Clemson - Did what they were supposed to vs Kent St 56-3 3. Penn St - Picked up where last season left off 52-0 over Akron 4. Ohio St - Took IU's shot in the 1st half, but wore them down 49-21 5. Michigan -Looked great against UF 33-17 6.Oklahoma - Took care of the business like they should 67-7 over UTEP 7.Washington - Not the best showing, but they eventually won on the road vs another P5 30-14 vs Rutgers 8.Oklahoma St - Impressive handling of a high potent offense and good team. 59-24 over Tulsa 9.Virginia Tech - Probably the most impressive win of the weekend taking care of WVU 31-24 10.USC - Looked in trouble for 3 quarters. Luckily they woke up late to beat WMU 49-31 11.LSU - Shut out BYU, but that may not be saying much this year 12.Stanford - Workman hammering of Rice 62-7 13.Louisville - Big win on a neutral field over an improved Purdue 35-28 14. Florida St - Got handled by Bama, and most importantly lost their stud QB. Ton's of questions now 15.Auburn - Business like 41-7 over Ga Souther 16. Georia -Georgia run game can't be stopped. 41-7 ov Ga Souther 17.Miami - HoHum opening week vs Bethune-Cookma 41-13 18. Kansas St - Another team who we didn't learn much about this week. 55-19 over Cent Arkansas 19. Washington St - Took care of business 31-0 over Montana St 20. Tennessee - Great will to win over what looks to be a greatly improved Ga Tech 42-41 21. Maryland - Probably the best performance of the weekend handling Texas on the road, 51-41 22. UCLA - Well in the end they got a win over a team that at very worst has elite talent. 45-44 23. TCU - Got the job done 63-0 over Jackson St 24, Notre Dame - 49-16 over Temple. Not surprising 25. South Carolina - Resume win as a dog over a highly thought of NCS ST, 35-28 I'm going to try and do this week by week in this 1 thread. As a college football junkie i'm looking at it as something fun to do, while sharing my input. Dont be afraird to disagree with me, talk to me about anything else having to do with cfb, or just ignore the thread since it may keep popping back up.
