Week 2 had some major implications on the season's national championship race. For the schools that lost (here's looking at you tOSU), if you're going to lose, you want to lose early. Then you have a school like Oklahoma who came away with one of the more important wins a conference (BIG12) may have ever needed. Again, my rankings are based on actual results for week 1 and 2. I had no preseason rankings that inflated some schools in other polls. 1. Alabama - Did nothing that would validate moving them out of the top spot. Time will tell to see who the better win was. (N) vs FSU, or OU (@) tOSU 2. Oklahoma - Dominated tOSU on their home field. May end up being the best W of the season. 3. Clemson - Great win vs Auburn 4. Penn St - Could flip-flop this spot w/ USC. Penn St is proving last year wasn't a fluke. Barkley is a beast. 5. USC - If they looked better in week 1 vs WMU they would probably be 4. Regardless they dominated Stanford who I think will have a great year 6. Michigan - Built on their quality W wk 1 vs UF with a easy win over a decent Cincinatti 7. TCU - Big jump, but if comparing resumes and how teams looked then TCU belongs about here. Resume win and probably the 4th or 5th best W of the week winning @Ark 8. Georgia - See TCU explanation. Big resume winning @ND. Probably better with Fromm 9. Oklahoma St - Looking like one of the best offenses in the country 10. Washington - Wk 1 win @Rutgers where they struggled could be looked back at as a tell for what was to come, or just a fluke? We'll se 11.. Louisville - Picked up another quality win, this time winning @UNC. Speaking about high powered offenses... 12. Virginia Tech - Wk 1 win vs WVU (n) nice to have in their back pocket 13. FSU - It will be another wk before we start to find out more about the Noles 14. Ohio St - No question they have elite talent, but home loss vs OU and looked very beatable for a half in wk 1. 15. LSU - Nice W at home vs BYU. Looks like more of the same. Great D, sluggish O 16. Wisconsin - Will start to find out about Wisky this week 17. Washington St - Solid home W vs a good Boise St. 18. Kansas St - 2 woodshed beatings as they should have been. Tough one vs Vandy this wk 19. Miami - Season starts now 20. Tennessee - Nice W to start season over GT (n) and an easy W in wk 2 as it should have been 21. Maryland - Took care of business in Wk 2 after resume W in wk 1 @texas 22. S. Carolina - Another quality W this time Mizzou with ease. S.Car looking very solid. 23. Oregon - Solid home W vs Nebraska in wk 2 24. UCLA - Offense is humming. Will have plenty of opportunities this yr 25. Utah - Nice road W in their rivalry game. Just not sure how good BYU is? This spot could have went to about 5 schools. Just on the outside (no order): San Diego St, Colorado, Duke, Mississippi St, Vanderbilt, Iowa, Michigan St, Stanford Thoughts???
