I'm sure this has been suggested before, but what do people think about the NCAA committee releasing their bracket on a weekly basis starting say 4-6 weeks out from the tournament? Similar to how it was done with the BCS and now the CFB playoff. Could that add more transparency to the process and be healthy for the game?

Wouldn't be terrible, but I really think things are just overblown because of Lunardi/ESPN. I think ESPN just needs to replace Lunardi or people need to realize he isn't good at his job and stop taking what he says/analyzes as gospel.

That would be nice but I don't see it happening. It would lessen the intrigue and debates that generate clicks and ratings on channels paying the NCAA.

Oh, and it would eliminate the opportunity for back-room deals and special favors.

I advocated for this back in November when the CFB committee was doing it and people complained it would take the fun out of Selection Sunday.

I said I want to know where I am going into Championship Week etc. and it would tell teams play tougher non conference schedules or shut up and win games.

I would do the committee rankings once a month till mid February then do them weekly. I would rank the top 75 teams.

That would be way too much work, especially for a committee comprised of people with full-time responsibilities to their own institutions. The CFB Playoff committee only ranks the top 25, of which really only the top 10 matter. It's not very complex. Building a bracket on a weekly basis seems like way too much of an undertaking, and in the grand scheme of things, wouldn't add all that much to the experience.

College football is significantly more popular than college basketball so clearly they're doing something right.

And Selection Sunday would still be very intense as things would be very shook up from Championship Week.

Waste of time. Way too many moving parts and unlike Lunardi, the guys on the committee actually have day jobs with responsibilities.
