Run/Pass option means it's not predetermined - you count the box and go. So vs Pitt we threw more because they liked to play single coverage with a bunch of guys close to the line. When we run a lot it's because teams are sitting back.

It has nothing to do with pleasing the average fan who likes the pass and heard the phrase air raid 10 years ago.

You keep beating this drum and people keep saying its plays per game. More plays = more passing. If we played the same in both halves just once our numbers would jump, scoring, YPP, plays per game, and the amount of passes per game, etc.

We know the issue. A suspect defense means we have less opportunities. It also means we are less likely to play with pace. As our D gets better, our O numbers will get better (not to mention, our young offensive players will be that much better).

If we play average Shafer/Bulluogh D, and play two halves on O we win a lot of games scoring a bunch of points. Dungey, Fredericks, Ishmeal, Phillips - will put fans in the seats.
