Was in and out. If there weren't, why the hell not. Louisville had forty yards per play

There was but the worst review of all time said there was a penalty on us after we recovered.

it was the correct call
What I don’t get is how they can discover a penalty on replay for something else. I’m sure it’s in the rules as some kind of safety precaution but it’s just weird. It’s like reviewing a spot on whether a runner got first down and noticing on review that a lineman had hands on defenders face or was holding so original reason for review is irrelevant.

I think Coley might have made contact slightly before ball had reached 10 yds or was touched but no flag was called for that. Missed penalty calls happen all the time and they shouldn’t be found upon review for something else.

That's one of the situations they can call it on review

The most common things to come up that aren’t reviewable are penalties. Only these are reviewable (including when not called on the field):

  • Targeting
  • Blocking by the kicking team before its players are eligible to touch the ball on an onside kick
  • A player going beyond the neutral zone while kicking the ball
  • The number of players a team has on the field
  • A player making a forward pass or forward handoff when past the line of scrimmage or after a turnover (or a forward pass that becomes legal after another pass is ruled to be a lateral)
  • Illegal touching of a forward pass or a kick

Yeah, thanks I figured it was in the rule books and a safety issue.

My next question would be was there indisputable evidence that he actually made contact before ball went 10 yds or was touched by the defense? It seemed like he was slightly early based on view from back angle but we also couldn’t tell where ball was at that point as it was very close to 10 yard mark. The side angle didn’t seem to tell much more since the view was blocked and it was still at an angle and not right down the line. To me it seemed like it was a cop out since it was only logical that it’s most likely what happened (ie the Ruff strip earlier this season). I didn’t see anything conclusive that would be worthy of overturning a call on the field where the officials are lined up right there with eyes on the action.

my issue is that the play is called blockng but the contact was caused the offensive player going for the ball.
