There was but the worst review of all time said there was a penalty on us after we recovered.
What I don’t get is how they can discover a penalty on replay for something else. I’m sure it’s in the rules as some kind of safety precaution but it’s just weird. It’s like reviewing a spot on whether a runner got first down and noticing on review that a lineman had hands on defenders face or was holding so original reason for review is irrelevant.it was the correct call

I agree that Coley made contact slightly before ball had reached 10 yds or was touched but no flag was called for that. Missed penalty calls happen all the time and they shouldn’t be found upon review for something else.
Yeah, thanks I figured it was in the rule books and a safety issue. That's one of the situations they can call it on review
How reviews and challenges work in college football
Most reviews come from the booth, but coaches can initiate them, too.www.sbnation.com
The most common things to come up that aren’t reviewable are penalties. Only these are reviewable (including when not called on the field):
- Targeting
- Blocking by the kicking team before its players are eligible to touch the ball on an onside kick
- A player going beyond the neutral zone while kicking the ball
- The number of players a team has on the field
- A player making a forward pass or forward handoff when past the line of scrimmage or after a turnover (or a forward pass that becomes legal after another pass is ruled to be a lateral)
- Illegal touching of a forward pass or a kick
