For a player who the board showed a great interest in I was surprised there were no comments on the post I made last Friday about his committment to Maryland.

Maybe there was a discussion somewhere else that I missed? According to the article we didn't make his final four, maybe that's why.

Locksley saving Douche bag Edsall's bacon here, that is all it is

No reason to have a pity party. Once a player chooses another school I really don't care anymore.

Wes Brown & Greg Garman (4 star RB, Erie Pa --- committed to Iowa) -- both from areas we can recruit, we offered, neither gave SU a serious look.

It is a reality check. But not a surprise. Need to move up the food chain before the 4 star prospects come visit.

There was a discussion you missed. Chalk one up to Locksley.

Brown never seemed interested in SU, and perhaps as a result, we cast our lot @ RB with McFarlane and Morris. He was never coming here so I don't view it as a recruiting "loss".

From what I have been hearing he was a MD lean for awhile he really didn't want to play that far from home. I hate Randy as much as the next guy but I think the location of the program was a bigger selling point then any coach on there staff could have been

Let's hope Locksley hops to a bigger program we don't play against in the next 2 years.

I'm not sure why there'd be a discussion because there was never any mutual interest. I doubt we'll discuss Devin Fuller or Darius Hamilton either.

Ok, I just remember seeing a lot of posts that referred to Wes Brown.

I heard he was a strong Vandy lean until their his lead recruiter left for Illinois. Couple that with Locksley showing up at MD and he was sold.

He did like Chris who was recruiting him however according to a few people over that way he was a MD committ for the past two months which suprised me. According to them he didn't want it put out there so the kept it in house. I could always ask Chris but I feel bad bothering him during recruting periods. I exchanged numbers with him three years ago at my boss's house when he was still at WVU he was going after one of the kids I knew. Long story short Chris is a great guy and very down to earth he got his first head coaching gig at a northern virginia high school did great things there which lead to him going to the college level. I am really pulling for him to become a head coach soon, he works his butt off and I would fully trust my kids with him.

I wonder if the 2 months thing is when Mr Beatty knew he was leaving for Illinois? It was announced Jan 3rd but you have to figure the hiring happened sometime before that due to interviews, etc. Figure if he was leaving Vandy would pull him from the recruiting trail. Regardless, not importnant enough to bother him about message board conjecture.

My info came from a UMD guy who became decidely more excited about the prospects of landing Wes after it was announced Beatty was leaving. Doesn't make it gospel, but certainly feasible since it seems were telling the same story from different angles.

I also agree about Beatty being a good HC sometime soon.

That would make sense. It's so crazy the business of recruiting I try to stay in the loop but your banking on a bunch of 18 year olds to keep there word. I can't imagine the day to day stress on a first hand basis.

Spot on, but I'd take the job in a second if it was offered.

Brown was supposedly a heavy Miami lean back before the scandle broke so hat's off to the teams that kept in contact and kept interest in him.

Our staff does well to stay after kids as well. Last year netted us Trudo, Foy, and Desir and the year prior we got West, Goggins, Cater, Robinson, Hickey and Lyn late in the game.

Not going to lie I would take it if offered as well, the thing about Chris is he has such a solid pipeline down in this area. I wish we could get a DMV pipeline going for SU there is a lot of studs that come out of that tri state area. I truly believe coach London at UVA will own the DMV tri state in two more years he is already giving VT all they can handle in recruiting espically in the Roanoke and VA beach region. On a side note I have been pleased and agree with you about our staff getting after kids. Just wish we had a few more VA kids on board

Thanks, I put my daily articles up that day at 8:22 AM & that discussion started at 8 AM but I started compiling everything before 7AM that day so I missed that patricular post.

No worries. I know you're doing a million things at once on here so just trying to help out.
