Reminded me of some old su teams, pressure defence, free throws, turnovers. The 5 stars from kansas had no idea how to handle the kids from new york. Inspiring, agree to disagree w/ anyone but I remember a time when su played similar basketball.
Can you imagine our guards trying to deal with Huggy Bear's and WVU's D?! It would be a nightmare for us. I doubt we would get to 50. Heck, Kansas struggled to get to 63.
This just highlights the importance of having difference making backcourt players. Good guards go a long way toward helping take on such defense, and exploiting it when you break the pressure.
We haven't had a guard who attacks pressure off the bounce since Scoop / Dion in 2012 [MCW / Triche to a lesser extent in 2013--they were certainly great getting into the lane in the NCAA tournament].
Huggy Bear just earned a cool $25K for that win.
Maybe a new sweatsuit. I love Huggy! To bad he won't splurge for a suit with that money.

You are exactly right, I just enjoyed watching that game and went into a time tunnel to the late 80's when we played m2m, ran, attacked at all times. Sometimes I just have to walk away anymore. Even the early 80's w/ rautins, bruin, santifer, etc though not terribly successful were so fun to watchWe may have pressed quite a bit more and played like that at times during a game in the past, but I don't think we played it nearly to the same extent and purpose to say we played similarly.
West Virginia
1) Presses the entire game -- every trip
2) They go 10 deep this year with a desire to get to 12 deep ideally.
It's a unique team. And part of what makes college basketball fun -- teams that play differently.
