When I see someone in cubs garb around the city, though, I do try to make them feel better about their team. I usually say, "Don't feel bad, anyone can have a bad century." That always soothes their feelings. If that doesn't work, I will politely point out that the last time their team won a World Series, the Titanic had not yet sunk.

I would consider any Redbird fan who rooted for the cubs in any way to be a turncoat.

But, hey, whatever works for you. ;)

Personally, I find myself rooting for our current conference brethren. However, I understand those who choose to root for our former conference mates. Except Georgetown, of course, that would be sacrilege.
