Obviously, most of us agree with the sentiment.  However, I'm not sure it's entirely accurate either.  As a founding member of the BE, Syracuse has been instrumental in the Big East's success.  Likewise, the Big East has been a big reason why SU has evolved from a small, private, regional school in basketball, to a national brand. 
 
At the same time, the second part of your statement kind of throws me.  "Necessity" was 2003, when SU knew that it had to follow Miami, and BC to the ACC, or face an uncertain future.  Today, in 2012, the ACC move is still an act of necessity, but the situation has changed.  The Big East no longer exists -- not the Big East we knew.  The suits in Providence can posture and puff up all they want, but the fact remains, the conference -- both football and basketball -- is an entirely different entity, and not for the better. 
 
Anyway, I'm just saying that I agree with your signature.  But it implies the BE continues.  In my opinion, it does not.[I][/I]
