...this is interesting reading. Wonder what the reason is for this to be said. At any rate, it is very interesting that BE left behind! IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT THE $19 million payed out to each of the Big 12 schools is highest ever for the conference; however, that is for 8 teams only...if there were 10 that received the dollars it would be about the $$$ per each conference school as ACC! Anyone know what our pay scale will be? WV is gonna get $30 million the first 4 years, or $7.5 million a year. That is awful. Is the payback of the loan for the BE buyout included in that? If not then their net will be $10 million after four years. So it will take WV seven years just to break even vs staying in the BE.

That's funny spin.

I assume it will be the same as Miami, VT, and BC, where SU and Pitt will get 70% share of all revenues the first three years in and then full shares from the 4th year onward.

Cheers,
Neil

As a founding member I thought SU did the time and left free and clear.

Math was never a strong suit in Morgantown

A WV poster mentioned on this board this week that for the first 4 (3?) years, they only get a partial share (TCU, too). Can't remember if it is 60%, 70%, or what...

Supposedly, from a WVU fan the Eers revenue share is as follows:

1st - 50%
2nd - 67%
3rd - 85%
4th - full share

Cheers,
Neil

I thought that SU and Pitt were full share from the get go on this new contract?

...need to go back and look but i believe PeteCalvin is correct...full share when we start...ACC shares all revenue equally...hopefully!

I don't remember hearing anything about phased-in shares in the ACC.

I thought I read somewhere that the ACC also incorporated a "tier" payout for SU/Pitt...

By "help" he means take a few teams off the ACC's hands...FSU (cough, cough) Clemson (cough, cough)

This is what I have been thinking.

"Interestingly, the Tallahassee Democrats' Jim Lamar also noted that Chuck Neinas mentioned that if the eventual playoff model excluded other leagues like the ACC, "we'd be in front of Congress the next day." And really, he's right"

If the SEC and Big 12 or any other power conference tries to corner the market, Congress will have to step in and take action.

Everyone that keeps saying 4 x 16 needs to look at reality, when pitt and syr move you have 62 teams in 5 leagues. You add in Notre Dame,BYU, Boise St ,Louisville, you still have the service academy's thats 69. Congress would step in and eliminate tax breaks for all those schools. You really think Louisville with the UPS air hub is going to be left out, and Memphis home of FED EX, the 2 biggest shippers in the world. There are a lot more factors in conference alignment then just TV money. You are talking big companies with advertising budgets, and other means to put pressure to get teams in the mix. I still say the 5 x 16 is the only chance they have Big,ACC,Big12,SEC,Pac12.

The power game will never work. Congress would get involved so fast Brady Hoke would have to leave the buffet early.
