Why would the BB schools permit expansion until Missouri and the Big 12 and thus UL, Cinn, WVU decide?
If UL, WVU, Cinn withdraw, and the 6 schools are invited, (Navy, Air Force, Bose: football only), Houston, SMU, UCF: all sports, then the all sports members are: UCF, USF, SMU, Houston, RU and UConn.
That means 2 additional all sports schools need be added. Temple may be unlikely due to Nova opposition.
I can see The BB schools wanting to keep RU and UConn for northeast games. But do the BB schools really want to play all sports against 2 teams in Texas, 2 in Fl, a school like East Carolina and someone else?
The BB schools have a lot of commonality and presumably community of interest. The NCAA tournament is relatively open. Why not just add schools that they want to play and let the football schools move on if UL, Cinn, WVU leave?
