JB a pass for acting like a lunatic versus the number of people who were all over Shafer for acting the same way. The game was FAR from over and the call was far from cut and dry. Poor decision by JB, IMO. JB cost us any shot at a win as well, game was not over. I see both points of view but completely disagree with JB's reaction being some type of bigger plan, just a guy blowing a gasket with little regard to what the outcome of his actions would be. Very Bobby Knightesque and I like bob knight

Unless he was pulling a Gene Hackman and Hop was shooter but I didn't see a picket fence play.

Nor did I, JB has never been tossed out of a game, minus that exhibition game I think we can cut the man slack after 38 years. Just shows what a horsesh** call it was! Definitely had no problem with HCSS either.

Shafer was only a story because the camera was on him and it was easy to read his lips. Even then, I could not care less about the " Dabo" from ACROSS the field. Normally, I would not have been happy with Boeheim getting a T in a close game but his reaction was not unjustified. Given the block called against Mike G., the refs were wrong on calling the CJ one a charge. I know the technical sealed the game but let's face it, the foul call pretty much nailed it too.

They foul. Duke goes 1 of 2 from line we have a shot to at least tie? Game was far from being over. Far from being over. Crazy talk.

The game did not mean too much. Jim would not do something like that in the final four. But your right, Everyone made a huge deal with the DABO! Thing...and it was not the reason we lost to Clemson.

Jim ran onto the court and got in the ref's face. That's a lot different than Shafer. Though I don't have an issue with Boeheim going nuts on the court, he had to get a T and depending on his exact words, maybe even deserved the ejection. Again, way different than reading Shafer's lips when he was on the other side of the field from they target of the words. The media made Shafer's a big deal but most here were not critical of such an average sitiation.

With this team, anything could happen.

I understand that.

But it was an emotional moment in a very hotly contested game before a very loud and intense crowd.

The emotions got the best of JB - it would have been better had it not happened but I can't trash him for what he did in the heat of the moment.

And I have no problem with Shafer at all.

Shafer flipped out that Clemson tried to score. You're reaching

Clemson wasn't just trying to score. They were trying to put the nail in at the half with a TD on 4th down. If they were trying to score - they would have kicked. Dabo deserved every FU he got.

Turn that one around, and I would hope we tried to score the TD against the lesser team.

As for JB, giant moment in the game, call was completely incorrect, and he just lost it. Had that happened at another point in the game (instead of when trying to tie the game with 10 seconds left), he doesn't react that way. It's not that big a deal. People act like JB blows up all the time. He's been calm for years now. Good to see he's still got it.

Yeah, we could have won. But we probably would have lost. He didn't cost us the game, he just took a low probability and brought it to zero. End of the day, that loss really doesn't mean anything, even if it seemed to in the heat of the moment.

As a coach and former player, I, along with many others on the board, can tell you that in the heat of the moment during competition you don't always act the way you normally would. I don't blame coaches and players for letting the emotion get the best of them, as long as it isn't an every game thing. With that being said I also don't have a problem with others judging them and calling them out, I just won't be the one to do it.

I personally had no problem with Scott, what Dabo did was bush league , and I said so at the game.

Shafer was getting his tail whooped on national TV and Clemson was playing for BCS points. Big, big difference.

You are nuts the game was over at that point. Official essentially decided the game outcome, which should not happen, but does all to often.

If Duke makes 1 of 2. If we hit a 3 (hadn't done so the whole second half).

Then, we're in OT. And who is the big favorite to win--foul trouble, you know.

Neither did I.

Emotion is part of the game.

I pretty much did the same thing in my living room last night.
Did you get T'd up by a family member? :)

It was not over. Down 2 with 10 seconds left? That is insane

Other than the fact that both are head coaches, and both swore, I see nothing remotely comparable in the two situations. And I wasn't bothered by either coaches actions.

In addition, I find it highly unlikely for those that feel JB was trying to send a message after listening to him post game. Just a guy blowing a gasket. Will never change anything either. Refs don't care.

Even if the situations were comparable, boeheim is an all time great and Shafer is ordinary. I'm fine with a double standard

I'm fine with it, if people will agree it wasn't some type of Jedi mind trick when JB ran out there, just a guy blowing a freaking gasket... as was shafer's, if you get paid to win games, it was a bad move. Actually JB's was far worse. Is what it is.

Nobody enjoyed that outburst more than hard nosed himself I am sure
