jamison is the real deal ala joe morris, ru defense is vg, otherwise they suck and we should smoke both ru and usf, finally skip holtz exposed and he sucks. that is all

1. RU has some very big, talented WRs. Their offense is better than given credit.
2. RU can mount a decent pass rush.
3. If you pressure BJ, he turns into a pathetic imitation of a QB.

I think we beat both these teams but I suspect Rutgers will end up 3rd in the BE behind us and Louisville.

I have always liked Jamison. But his ypc will suck all year thanks to their awful OL.

I didn't think Jamison looked that good actually. Sure he put up some good numbers but they were mostly padded by the long run at the end and amount of carries that he received. He seemed pretty hesitant hitting the hole and didn't show much explosion once there either. Other than the nice spin move in the hole on his long run I didn't really see him make any good moves to make people miss. It just seemed like he was very fortunate to have some decent holes on his longer runs 7-10 yarders then as soon as a defender got there they either stood him up easily or took him down.

I agree, the only move that impressed me was that spin leading to his 41 yard TD run. Besides that, I think our biggest challenge will be keeping RU's receivers blanketed. We can shut down their rushing.

i forgot about the wide receivers---yes they are good and big

So far this season, there has been nothing to support your statement that "their offense is better than given credit". They have struggled mightily to gain yardage and put up points through 3 games. Granted USF has a good D-line, but Tulane and Howard are not good defensively. RU can mount a decent pass rush, but if you keep them honest by being able to run the ball (something USF can't do and really gave up on too soon), you can counter their rush. They do have a very solid front 7 and Logan Ryan is excellent, but the rest of their defensive backfield looked suspect last night. If we can keep our turnovers down, there is no reason we shouldn't beat them.

Their offense last night was not awful, despite the conventional wisdom.

yeah me to.

It's not a good offense in that it's not going to be successful in long drives, it's going to face a lot of 3rd downs if it continues to emphasize the run.

But they do have big play potential. And when you have a good defense, the big plays can be all you need.

They're better right now than I thought they would be in year 1 post Schiano.

But we'll learn a lot more soon. Arkansas up next, who will likely be coming off 2 losses, and looks like they could be a completely fall apart candidate from their new coaching regime. Then UConn at home, in a game that is sure to set offensive football back about 10 decades.

Hate to say it but if RU had a better QB I think they could be Top 30.

what bothers me most is that get better every game---that is a mark of a good team

Their receivers clearly pass the look test. If we don't get a bunch of knockdowns or hurries on their qb, our small db's will likely be in for a long afternoon.

Rutgers will be tough.

Away game- solid defense- last BE match-up- better all around athletic ability.

It will be a very tough game for the Orange..

RU has a great group of receivers, out of the backfield, TEs, WRs. Would be hard to make a QB look bad with that corp

We're the better team. Why ignore their other games when they looked like an FCS team?

I bet VT thought the same thing going into Pitt today.

We are not the better team.

Rutgers has a much better defense and many more athletes st this point.

We will have to play a very good game to win there.
