What if we threw 65% and avg five yards per carry?

That's the great thing about this. You can clearly see the meat left on the bone. Start winning, start to get better recruits and this offense output has no end.

Nothing stops...nothing.

when you can score 50 and count on 1 hand the runs that were really solid it shows you what can happen. did we ever get thru to the 2nd level clean once all day?

yr three still cant score from the 1.. I dont have faith we can stop anyone from the 1 or faith we can get in on less than 3 tries.

There were so many runs where there was no safety and no LB but we can get guys thru the crease but someday we will.

Part of the problem this weekend was Strickland getting all the run, Neal being in the doghouse for the fumble. Love Strick, especially near the goal line, but in the middle of the field, he has no burst.

I'm looking for Moe to have a big game Saturday. Served his punishment, now goes to play near home.

I'm not one to tell anyone how to do their job (at least not anymore), but I wish Strickland was the goal line back instead of Howard. Howard scored one running hard, and then didn't score another for hesitating and dancing. Strickland knows what to do that close in.

My guess is they're trying to get Howard comfortable in that role, as he'll be playing it for the next three years.

There are so many obvious weaknesses and yet we are still rolling like this. It was crazy to spend so many years doing things the hard way when there was low hanging fruit like babers out there

Abdul Adams says HI!

(and this is nothing against Jarveon, whom I love. Adams is our best RB right now. Much like Trishton is our best WR - both of these guys will be STUDS for us next year.)

I don't disagree -- meant more of a goal line back than anything else.

The Neal, Howard, Adams combo we will have next year is going to be an amazing trio. I'm going to go ahead and assume Dino has a plan for the OL because I really don't want to spoil having that trio of stud backs at our disposal.

As long as the OL is decent the offense as a whole should be absolutely humming next year. it will make this years offense look like the B team.

After years of having OT be our weakness, we have a pair of bookend tackles, but our interior isn't quite where it needs to be.

I wonder if Sampson [who would have enrolled last January, participated in spring ball, etc.] might have made an impact. Oh well.

The good news is that we have a ton of talent in the pipeline at OL. Really feel like we're on the cusp of turning that positional unit into a consistent strength. We'll have our work cut out to replace Martin / Conway, though.

See I think we will be good. Center is a jr next year, Rg comes back for Sr. Rt will be Heckel lg will be Davis and it’s not like our lg is killin people this year and lt will be Vito kid who has tremendous feet and I hear is gonna be good. I’m not too worried at all. A little Scittish with dt next year without Slayton. Backers will be improved and hoping for a more aggressive downhill smash mouth defense next year to match our offense. Bring Dino s philosophy to the defensive side and look out. It is only pretty when it comes fast and hard. Recruits love defenses like that. My old hs kids would much rather play aggressively than read and react.

He probably needed to just lower his shoulder and push the pile but I've seen other times, not necessarily on our team this year, where a guy waits and a crease opens up for him. Then he's complemented for being patient.

We would have scored on the first run from the one Saturday if they left Strickland in. The hole was there off left tackle but Howard didn't hit it, choosing to run into the back of the LT instead. I wasn't sure why they subbed there right after DS ran to the one. He didn't want to come out either. He seemed mad.

But at the goal line in a jumbo set, waiting for a seam is a 2 yard loss.

I didn't mean to be knocking Howard, so much as wondering why it's not Strickland's role right now.

Howard is young, very bright future. Strickland knows the offense well, is the best bet to protect the ball, knocks a couple defenders over per game, and can just as easily slip out for the pass.

I didn't take it as knocking Howard. With the exception of the play you mentioned, I think Howard has shown that he is strong at the goal line and I think that is why Dino has been going to him. Strickland has been running much stronger the last few games and is good in that role too. All three guys have had a fumble at different points. I think Howard learned his lesson after he got stripped. I liked that Strickland was mad when he came out. That's some good fire right there.

It has to be so tough on those two to have to sit out this year. I bet they're both chomping at the bit to contribute to this.
