The ACC invited Syracuse & Pitt, due to the inside knowledge that at least two teams would be leaving?

These two schools have the only two available traditional successful programs in the Northeast, & the ACC figured they needed to sew up the Northeastern market with the stable flagships of the Northeast.

Before you ask why they wouldn't invite a few southern staples to replace their corresponding defections, maybe they DID invite them, & they secretly rejected the offer.

Before you ask why they wouldn't invite Rutgers or UCONN, DON'T !!!! If you have to ask that question, your College Football Fan Card should be revoked !!!

Flat out dumb post. The ACC brings in SU and Pitt to replace FSU and Clemson? FSU and Clemson give the ACC a year to replace them just to be nice? FSU and Clemson bargaining power goes down with Maryland leaving for B1G. FSU and Clemson I assume you are saying head to Big XII, which brings no more money to them and which then splinters in 2 years with Tx, Tx Tech, Ok and Ok St going to PAC 12/16? FSU and Clemson then play Kansas, KSU, WVU, ISU, TCU and Baylor in conference? Your logic is flat out SPOOKY!

Mantonio:

Rutgers wasn't invited for how good their programs are (cuz they pretty much stink in everything)...it was a pure market/geography play. Delany drove a Phalanx in between the ACC. Hell Delany didn't even realized Rutgirls had expanded their stadium...you really think he cared how abysmal their sports programs were? Additionally Maryland was low hanging fruit in the ACC in need of a cash infusion..combine PSU, RU and MD and you have a wedge cutting the ACC into two parts. I hate to say it but the ACC is going to behind the $$$ train for awhile which will create instability.
