Jimbo has actually kicked many players off the team, but those don't count.  This case had a lot of witnesses that told a very different story than the accuser.  You've got a lot of witnesses that dispute the account, you've got a 911 call that contradicts the account, you've got injuries that contradict the account, and you've got an accuser who couldn't identify her assailant at all until she got together with her father and he "helped" her identify him. Cook's attorney filed a motion for speedy trial today because he believes the state case is so weak.  He is refusing to plea bargain it down to resolve the charges.

No other attorney general would have charged this case, but Willie Meggs makes his career on overzealously pursuing charges against FSU football players.  I know that's hard to believe given the national narrative, the AG could not be less of a "friend of the program", going back decades.  But even his history, there's a good chance these charges are dropped.

Team picture optics aside, FSU's doing the right thing in this case given what we know...if this moves forward for trial, then I expect he'll be suspended indefinitely until we see how that plays out.  If the charges are dropped because they are bogus, then he will be (and should be) a part of the team.

The joke about him being asked to turn to the side was a damn good one though!
