The passing game will be wide open as teams are forced to load the box. I had been unconvinced about the 3-3-5 as we had owned West Virginia when Holgorsen ran it. Hackett had it figured out pretty well. However, this defense is real. Last night was the first test this year against a high-powered offense and they passed with flying colors. Yes, the secondary got burned badly a couple of times but the youngsters will grow as the season goes on. Six sacks against an elusive Mark Willis is impressive. Even more so was the goal line stand when the game was on the line. And the fumble recovery, well, it may have been the most important play of the season. We have many potential Sunday players on this unit - more than I thought. Stupid penalties still plague this team. If not cleaned up, it will cost us a game or two before the season is over. In my mind, the jury is still out on the offensive line. With the Shrader offensive scheme, they just have to be serviceable. We'll see. Attendance is disappointing to say the least. Even so, the Loud House was effective last night. Imagine what it will be like with 40,000+. This game was very encouraging. We beat a Top 25ish team.
