I have tuned into this channel at various times during the afternoons this past week, and there was no local programming. Are they on strike? Flu? Did UFOs snatch them up?

The upon further review guys quit and Brent said he would be gone a few days on Twitter. Not sure what the plan is to replace Chris and Steve.

Steve quit too?

I liked Upon Further Review. So, is the station going to put together some new people to discuss all things Syracuse - and other sports?

Yikes! I get back from a couple weeks out of the country to find that the only two good local sports hosts quit right before basketball season starts?? This is unacceptable. Chris and Steve being off the air is almost as unacceptable as Lindsley being on the air.

They should replace that show with a round-table of six of the best posters from this site breaking down basketball games. I'd listen to that.

That's what most sportscasters and sports talk guys are: fans who went into the business.
Anyone can do it.
But there's a big difference between writing posts (and usually anonymously at that) and being able to talk about it, live.
That's why there are so few great talk show, PBP & color people and even fewer great sportscasters.

Being great in any business takes a lot of work.
Even the few people blessed with God-given talent usually put in a lot of behind the scenes effort.

At least we still have 88.3 and 99.5 doing the games and post show. But 99.5 quits too early. It's still terrible that we don't have Syracuse coverage on the radio in the afternoon. Why did Chris and Steve quit? Anyone know?

General, glad you are in the house! Are you going to comment on our first game?

Chris father passed away not to long ago. I believe he might move closer to the rest of his family in the Carolina's, he had no new job lined up. I heard Steve found a new job outside of radio, but I don't know where that is.

I don't need greatness, I just need better than Mike Lindsley.

I'll try to put something together tonight, I should have time because I have no plans other than watching SU and sleeping off my jet lag. My disclaimer is, usually I have a pretty good grasp on the team going into the season, but tonight will be my first time watching them. I haven't seen any of the practices or any of the exhibitions, its all going to be a surprise to me.

I will start by nominating Francis. His podcasts are great.
