Typically, in my view, fouls (number of) has a lot to do with match ups and personnel. Per my observation, at least in this game, Brown appeared as if they were a D3 level team, especially on the athletic front. Our guys generally had no/very limited challenges relative to match-ups, etc. to face from that team, and, I think the number of fouls reflects that.
I realize that some folks have opined that this Brown team is not "that bad" taking UNC and Colorado to the later stages, etc., however, from watching (at least last night) the conclusion drawn for me was that this Brown team is simply not very good.
Perhaps, the long layoff they had as well had a much more adverse effect on them then us?
