I mean Alabame and UL are running the qb all the time and they never seem to take a shot, ours run way less and we lose them like leaves on a tree.

One thing we know that given 2-3 yrs of this system we will much better equipped to handle an injury.

When we get some depth that are capable of running the offense with some level of competency.

When our quarterbacks learn how to slide and not try to jump over defenders or through linebackers.

Some of the hits have just been bad luck, but this kid needs to learn QUICKLY how limit the possibilities for these hits.

In the same game a projected mid-first rounder went down too. We are not alone here...

I agree but there also is no need for dungey to take the read option and run essentially a dive v clemson... he has to be smarter than that

I dont see other teams with running qbs sliding and they avoid the head shots. sometimes its just the luck of the game. hurley got hurt every week it seemed, McNabb hardly a ding.

The answer to the OP's original question is never. I guarantee that Tigers were meowing like kittens when Watson pointed to that shoulder. Any team losing their starting QB is going to panic.

I think part of the problem that Dungey has is that he tends to drop his head or duck when he's under pressure or about to get hit. He does it in the pocket when he hears footsteps, which causes him to not be able to see downfield. If you watch the replay of the hit Saturday, he drops his head when he sees the second tackler coming. That put his head right in the line of fire.

I don't remember whether he was doing that last year before he got hurt or not. Might be because of all the head injuries he's had, or it might just be a natural instinct that he's always had. Either way, I don't think it's helping to keep his head out of harms way.

Dungey isn't as fast as those guys. On a certain level this is simple physics.
