And that's comparing a bad team at a school in a large city that has no particular affinity for basketball, to our good team in a mid-sized city that is traditionally a basketball town. Compared to the rest of our conference, a larger percentage of our basketball fanbase flat-out refuses to show up for women's basketball.

I can't speak precisely as to why this is, but I don't blame Legette-Jack for looking at those numbers and concluding that the fanbase doesn't give a  about basketball unless it's being played by men.
