Before Pitt we were getting killed on the boards and losing games on 2nd chance points. Since then we have tied or beaten every team...is it just effort? Or has Boeheim tweaked the zone to help with better positioning? Its hard to believe its just effort, and Boeheim is so good at those small, subtle, game changing tweaks.

Three factors, IMO:
  • Roberson has stepped it up a bit
  • Coleman went from not providing much earlier in the season to suddenly getting 5-7 every game
  • Because we're undersized, we need to bring it as a team. We did in Atlantis, got away from it during the JB suspension, and now are gang rebounding again

I agree. And against Virginia, we should expect the Cavaliers to be throwing bodies at Roberson. This should open up rebounding lanes for DC, Lydon, Malachi and G. They better be prepared to crash, because if we allow them to take Tyler out and not punish them for concentrating on only him, it will be a long night. I hope the coaches are telling our guys that VA is going to be hounding Cooney and pounding Tyler, that will leave a lot of space for G and Richardson to drive and shoot, and for Lydon and DC to do some things down low.
