Charlie Strong is obviously a very good football coach and was a smart hire at Texas. But back in October some sports journalists were suggesting that Charlie Strong was a bad fit at Texas and they even suggested that Texas should think about hiring a new coach. What in the world were they thinking? How much credibility can those journalists have going forward? Someone please build an App that keeps score of journalists' silly opinions and predictions.

TCU plays Texas in Austin on Thursday, November 27th. Both teams are coming off byes. The Longhorns' defense is beginning to look like a Charlie Strong defense. I'm excited to see that matchup. Does TCU fall from the top 4 this week based on yesterday's shaky win against Kansas? Could they fall next week with a bye?

How far will Miss State fall? Their OOC schedule does them no favors, and their two SEC East games are against UK and Vandy. It also doesn't help that Auburn has 3 losses including a loss to Texas A&M who just lost to Missouri at home and who now has 4 losses.

Alabama is definitely top 4 now, and they continue to dominate the SEC under Nick Saban. Arizona State drops with the loss yesterday, so where does Ohio State end up? Many OSU fans were thinking before yesterday that Nebraska losing would hurt OSU. I was surprised with the perception because Nebraska even with it's one loss was ranked all the way down at 16 while Wiscy with it's 2 losses was ranked at 20. Wiscy lost to LSU at Death Valley at night in a game they controlled for most of the first 3 quarters until they suffered some key injuries up front on defense. LSU ran the ball right at that weak spot and pulled out the win in the 4th quarter. Wiscy is a much better team than Nebraska, and the polls back that up. How far up does Wiscy move after yesterday? If Wiscy wins the B1G West I think a Wiscy-OSU B1G championship game will be compelling. Would a win in that game put OSU into the top 4? Should both TCU and Baylor be above OSU?

All of these questions and more make me love this system.

You could ask javadoc, but I don't think there is not enough computer memory on the planet to hold all "journalists' silly opinions and predictions. "

Lol. I didn't think of that. It's probably why no one has built the App for sports or for any other area. It would be really nice to keep score not just in sports but also with politics, the economy, foreign policy on down the line.

Wisconsin is on a major roll right now, but they didn't lose at Death Valley. I believe that game was in Houston. I think they can beat Ohio State and hopefully will.

Arizona State was probably going to lose anyway, at Oregon. If Miss State wins the Egg Bowl, they're in.

Bama should beat Auburn without much trouble. Auburn is crumbling. Hoping that Tennessee or Arkansas can beat Mizzou because I think Bama-UGA in the SEC Championship is much more interesting.

Alabama, FSU, MSU and either Baylor or Ohio State. Would an Ohio State win over hot Wisconsin allow them to jump Baylor who doesn't have a conf championship? Paging BYU and Boise, please pick up the Big 12 courtesy phone if that happens.

I think TCU played their way out of it against Kansas. They need help now.

We just need Auburn to beat 'Bama and UGA/Mizzou to win the SEC. An SEC-less playoff would be suh-weet.

You are correct, Wisconsin played LSU in Houston. Georgia is probably a better match up against Bama. The Egg bowl is going to be fun to watch.

I just realized that in my whole write up, I decided to delete Oregon for no particular reason.

So right now I'd say FSU (would be shocked if they lose at this point), Alabama (same), Oregon (same), then I'll go with Baylor on the assumption that Ole Miss wins the Egg Bowl. If Mississippi State wins it, and these other 3 teams hold serve, I can't imagine a scenario where Ohio State, Baylor, TCU jump any of them.

Of course, each year, there is another unforeseen upset. If I had to predict that, look to the schools in the state of Georgia in the conference championship games.
