If he had stuck to his commit there? Thoughts?

Also...is he kicking himself?

Battle would’ve been a 4 year player at Michigan, 4x all Big Ten, 3x Big Ten POY, average 20 ppg, then go undrafted. He’d then be granted 5th and 6th years of eligibility after transferring to and from Purdue and back to Michigan. Over 6 years, he’d score over 3,000 points.

You’re forgetting 4x Big Ten ROY!

I actually am not sure. The system is two different planes from SU’s. They run tons of stuff and he wouldn’t be doing nearly as much ISO. Beilein wouldn’t let him hold the ball as well like he does here and he would have to move a lot without it. It’s an interesting question.

In the early part of the game, thought the one advantage UM had was that the players were a bit quicker in ISO and maybe slightly more talented.

Thought Nova wore them down with physicality, experience and excellent coaching.

Tyus on Michigan would have evened up the toughness equation.

Hard-ass kid who would have bodied up with the Nova players better than some of them did.

He and Wagner might have presented a frightening 2-man game.

Nova still would have won.

They have a few players pretty similar to him in terms of position. Hes probably the co star with Wagner and leading/2nd leading scorer but its not certain. They'd be excellent with him and have had a shot at winning tonight.

Good players figure it out, some players are good in certain systems. Battle is a good player, he'd be good anywhere.

Agreed. He clearly wouldn't be featured as much, but also might benefit in terms of efficiency from playing on a more balanced team, with other scorers / shooters.

He'd be terrific in their system, and probably a three year player, minimum.

It appears Michigan has their own Battle in Stevens. He's a 6'6 soph, about the same build and weight, though Stevens looks a little more muscular than Battle...or perhaps it's just them tats on Stevens making it appear that way. Their games appear similar, although Battle has the ball more in his hands, which is likely due to the vastly different systems.
