It's an interesting question. Could JB coach that team or would he turn them all into Rak Christmases? He did great with Carmelo, but generally he makes no bones about hating freshmen and they tend to live up to his expectations. We know there is a huge difference between a Top 150 type recruit and a McD AA. Apparently there is an equal difference between a McD AA and a Top 10 type recruit. JB can't even get Xmas and MCW on the court and Calipari gets to the Elite 8 no problemo with his freshmen.

The average basketball IQ on here seems to be slipping downwards at a rapid pace. From suggesting that we stop shooting 3's to recommendations on what players Boeheim ought to have in the game. We have more "Syracuse fans" on here than we have "basketball fans".

Right now Jardine, Triche and Waiters give this team its best chance to win (which is all JB does and should care about}, and all three are very productive, well above average D1 guards. There are barely enough minutes for the three of them now and you want JB to throw MCW into these pressure cooker games?

I agree MCW is a potential stud, and he very well may be the best player of the four when we look back on their careers, but this year will not be his time. And as far as those speculating that Cooney should be playing, I just don't know what to say.

As would anyone who's seen Carter-Williams dribble against pressure. A lot of hyperbole gets thrown around about his handle and his defense, but both are worse than those of the three guards ahead of him.

He'll be a good player next year and maybe a great player soon after, but he doesn't do a single thing better than Scoop, Triche, or Dion right now. (Edit - ok, he's a better passer than Dion, but his shaky handle and poor defense keeps him off the floor in close games.)

Almost all of Cal's freshmen are top 10 recruits.
