I thought they both put too much on the OL. Now if WMU does this to us as well, then I am all in on blaming the OL. But we were playing Clemson. We could have had Bama’s OL and there would still be pressure. I am in no way saying that they were serviceable, they were not. They missed a lot of assignments. But at the same time there were plenty of WRs open underneath who were not seen.
No QB, even Brady, will make the right read every time. But is asking for 1/3 of the time not fair? After the first half when it was obvious what Clemson was doing, the coaches should have emphasized taking the 3 yard pass over looking at your normal primary option. Yes, we still lose the game that way but at least we are more competitive and keep most of the fans there till the end instead of leaving early 4th Q.
