In a typical situation, who would fire an assistant coach? JB? Gross? Cantor? The BoT?

Even though this isn't anything close to typical, if all they are discussing is the formal firing of BF, why does that need BoT approval? Just an additional CYA measure?

Wouldn't the BOT need to be involved because they can overrrule those other stakeholders? As in--if Cantor / Gross / the athletic department don't necessarily want to fire the basketball coach, the BOT could still choose to unilaterally [as a committee] do so on behalf of the university?

I think Bernie works for the University (or the Athletic Dept), not JB.

Bernie's boss is JB. If JB doesnt fire him, JB's boss DG will can him. If DG doesn't, Cantor will step in and fire him. And if none do, the BOT will.

I have a feeling the official firing will come from TGD, but Boehim is Bernie's official boss.

Without seeing a formal organizational chart, I am pretty confident. The HC has direct reporting structures for most college sports programs.

Gross has taken a very low profile in this. I imagine he's hiding under his desk. He'll surface, though, when there's a good photo op involving something positive at the school.
