I love these numbers. It just shows that everything has to fall in place to be successful. In our "worst" season we had ten losses and still made it to the Final Four. I'm shocked at the number of people who don't think we have a chance tonight. Duke is a perfect match up for us. No reason our guys don't bring their "A" games.

For the heck of it I checked Duke & Kentucky over that same five years

2009-2010 30-5 ......Duke 35-5 Nat'l Champs...Kentucky 35-3

2010-2011 27-8......Duke 32-5...Kentucky 29-9

2011-2012 34-3......Duke 29-7...Kentucky 38-2 National Champs

2012-2013 30-10......Duke 29-6...Kentucky 21-12

2013-2014 25-1...Duke 21-6.......Kentucky 20-6

146-27 for 84.4 %.....146-24 85.9%.....143-32 81.8%

A you can see we are tied for wins with Duke and they have 3 less losses

We have 3 more wins than Kentucky and five less losses

The next comparison you can make is SOS etc

Gonzaga? Kansas?

Kansas is the only one. I ran the numbers after our last Duke game and can post them when I get to work.

Here's what I came up with Kansas included

2009-2010 30-5 ......Duke 35-5 Nat'l Champs...Kentucky 35-3.....Kansas 33-3

2010-2011 27-8......Duke 32-5...Kentucky 29-9......Kansas 35-3

2011-2012 34-3......Duke 29-7...Kentucky 38-2 Nat'l Champs......Kansas 32-7

2012-2013 30-10......Duke 29-6...Kentucky 21-12....Kansas 31-6

2013-2014 25-1...Duke 21-6.......Kentucky 20-6......Kansas 20-6

146-27 for 84.4 %.....146-24 85.9%.....143-32 81.8%.....161-25 86.6%

If you look at the last three years its even more profound:

Cuse. 89-14. .864
Louisville. 87-19 .821
Wichita St. 85-15. .850
Kansas. 83-19. .814
Ohio St. 81-22. .786
Kentucky. 79-20. .798

So, I thought that there might be a chance that San Diego State's five year record might be worth a look.
As good as they are, they're really not that close to the leaders:

2009-2010 25-9 (lost in 1st round)
2010-2011 34-3 (lost in Sweet 16)
2011-2012 26-8 (lost in 2nd round)
2012-2013 23-11 (lost in 3rd round)
2013-2014 23-2

131 wins/31 losses
79.9%
