Who made the 2025 schedule,

Jakes ghost?

Tenn and ND out conference added to UNC, Piitt, VT, Clemson, and FSU

Jesus

2024 however is scheduling for success 9 wins should be the floor
I think the issue with 2025 was that we already had ND on the sked and then the Tennessee opportunity presented itself. Hard to turn that down, given the payday and exposure.

Would have been nice if we could have gotten the ACC to not have us play Clemson, but it's not like this conference does us any favors in that regard.

Tennessee is a game you can't lose that Sunday opening weekend slot as huge underdogs and no expectations is fine. Would have been nice to play them when they sucked for 20 years but it wasn't in the cards. They will probably enter that game with serious National Championship buzz I doubt Heupel leaves and they decline in the next 2 years. He won a Natty and couldn't get a cup of coffee in the NFL he's probably topped out there and will stay long term. I think their fanbase has learned their lesson after 20 tough seasons and should support him well.

We don't control when we play ND. I wonder if Hartman is going to lose against an ACC team doesn't he have 2 years if he wants them somehow? We might be trying to snap a 40 game ACC regular season winning streak when we play them. (Pukes.)

No but they’re a top 10 team right now.
yup..

but also pitt/ala should have been losses.. FL was a play away 11-2 should have probably been 8 - 9 win team last yr.

Who set up the 2023 schedule, looks just about as bad as you could possibly hope for with that list of opponents.
I was going to say the same things.

Four home games in September, no home games in October, and our AD took a bag of money to move one of our three home games in November to NYC.

To top it off we play a three game stretch with Clemson, UNC, and FSU.

One would think we are low man on the conference totem pole or something.

2024 appears to be setup nicely for a new coach (assuming Dino goes 5-7 because the Pitt game at YS is a disaster). Sorry, had to do it...
The guys been making some nice hires, last years wall did indeed suck but man we were decimated with injuries on defense and still had a successful season given our situation. Iv never had so much fun at a game than Louisville, nc state and Purdue. The dome was really rocking . I think the guy understands at this point what needs to be done. I do understand where you’re coming from and it was maddening to watch but I’m holding back judgement this year . If we can clean up the penalties and address our needs for a few options at wr we can be having another fun year .

We should make a bowl next year.
6-6 or 7-5 is what I see. And granted I want more but I will be accepting of that. Just need to string a run of bowl seasons together. One step at a time.

Tennessee is a Labor Day Weekend game. Announced in 2021 IIRC. Who knows what the program looks like by then.

Probably the same as we've looked for the last 7 years - a few great pieces, a lot of okay pieces, several questions on the OL, and bizarre coaching decisions. Why would things be different?

"The agreed-upon violations occurred over several academic years and involved cash payments to recruits and their families, impermissible recruiting contacts during a COVID dead period, and impermissible recruiting inducements during unofficial visits."

Sanctions haven't been determined yet.

To play devil's advocate here, if somehow the team pulls an incredible season out of their tuchuses it could be a program defining year for the 21st century. Permanent momentum shifter.

Not saying it'll happen, but one can wonder...

Penalty will probably be all teams that wear orange not south of the Mason Dixon line will have to have to give up 5 scholarships per year over the next 2 years.

Oh, that's right, the Pitt game is now at Yankee Stadium, right?
