Who to root for if your team doesn't win

I like to look at how long franchises and cities have been waiting for their ship to come in.

Cleveland Guardians - last won 1948
San Diego Padres - have never won. They've been in existence and in San Diego since 1969.
Milwaukee Brewers - have never won. Have been in existence since 1969 and in Milwaukee since 1970.
Baltimore Orioles - last won in 1983
Detroit Tigers - 1984
New York Mets - 1986
Philadelphia Phillies - 2008
New York Yankees - 2009
Kansas City Royals - 2015
Los Angeles Dodgers - 2020
Atlanta Braves - 2021
Houston Astros - 2022.

The Braves did win it all in 1995, although getting another Glavine, Maddux and Smoltz together again will be a challenge.

This really is the most ideal time (for non-Yankee or Dodger fans) to hope for playoff inclusion, and that miracle run - even if they don't deserve it. Baseball is odd that way now. Even in the NHL or NBA systems, the cream usually rises to the top. Imagine being a Senators fan circa 1956, and checking the standings in early August in the morning paper. Might as well go back to bed, heh.
