Why would they have to be told? I‘m assuming you’re talking about being told by our staff. Which I don’t understand. There were three spots taken by transfers. Are you thinking there were better players that may have been interested but were discouraged from ‘applying?’
If you were a 4- or 5-star high schooler or a potential impact transfer, wouldn’t you have a sense of the potential schools’ depth chart and maybe catch a few games and talk to people? I’m just guessing. And if you didn’t get the picture, the other coaches that want you would know the schools you’re considering and would put the bug in your ear. It‘s not about ”no room,” but more of ‘how are you going to be used and what’s a realistic MPG? And did you see that two or four contributing players from last year left because they knew such and such?‘

I dont think there were any. If I remember correctly, we locked up Cole and S pretty quickly and shut it down in the portal.

So I take that statement to mean there would be no open competition for any guard position or pretty much any position at all. Line-up was decided pre-season.

I think, and hope, everyone cares about the team. We all deal with these things differently. Sometimes you have to try & laugh, just to keep from crying.
Besides, not much we can do other than come here and commiserate with like-minded folks. It is, what it is.

We win these close games if Marek was still here. Jessie would have a field day. Marek would have set Jessie up for an easy lob layup yesterday. He could also beat pressure by himself. i can just vision the back doors he would set up for Buddy and Cole. Marek with Kadary and this team could have been special. JB’s stubbornness cost his son(s) from playing on a special team. What a difference this team would be with Joe, Jimmy, Benny and Braswell coming off the bench. This doesn’t even include Quincy and a Newton. Marek on the bottom of the zone would totally change this defense.
