- Because this is their house! We haven’t beaten this school in the Dome since Scott Shafer’s last game in 2015. In 2017, it was Boston College 42 Syracuse 14. In 2019 came that dreadful second quarter leading to Boston College 58 Syracuse 26. Last year it was at least a close game: Boston College 16 Syracuse 13. We seem to be playing teams in the same arena three years in a row due to the refigured schedules from last season. Next year we’ll play them in Boston. BC is going to miss this place.

- So what if BC has lost three games in a row. Three game losing streaks are made to be broken!

- We finally won a close one last week on a miracle finish. Our QB three a touchdown pass he never saw because he wound up flat on his back. A Hail Mary was batted down in the end zone. It could easily haven our 4th straight loss. We’ve had a pleasant week thinking about it but none of our problems have gone away and we could lose this one for the same reasons we’ve lost 4 other games.

- Actually a new problem developed in that game. We thought we had a heck of a defense but Va Tech, a team that, like BC, was struggling on offense, got well in a hurry. A guy who had run for 48 yards and no scores in prior games ran for 151 yards and 3 scores against us. Tech had 260 yards rushing and 177 more passing and scored 36 points. So BC is ‘struggling’. What will they do against our defense? Pat Garwo has had rushing games of 160 and 175 yards.

- If it comes down to a field goal, what do we have? Andre Szmyt or Sergio Garcia?

- And when we punt it, we’ve got the lowest rank punter, (of the 92 that have enough punts to be ranked), in the country. BC could gain yards with every boot.

- Dino Babers said that BC’s Zay Flowers will be “the most dynamic receiver on the field”. On NunesMagician, BC Interruption’s Niraj Patel called him one of the fastest guys out there”. Our injury problems at cornerback could prove significant.

Our special teams is definitely a problem, but I think we’re gonna get the dub today.
