- Because they are way better than we are. We are a 4-4 team hoping to get in a very minor bowl. They are an 8-0 team contending for a national championship.

- This one is in their place, a place where 80,000 fans actually show up for a game and actually cheer for their team on every play for the duration. They set noise records there. Imagine that…

- Yeah, they’ve had a bunch of close games. They are trying to insure a post in the 4 team playoff. Look what happened to Washington. They are undefeated and yet find themselves firth behind a 1 loss team SEC team, Texas A&M. That’s a message to Clemson that they had better start impressing people or they could get ‘pipped’, too. They are going to want to put Tiger paws on our helmets, too.

- Yeah, the last two SU-Clemson games have bene close. That’s because they didn’t think much of us at the time. We’ve earned more respect, which means we’re right in the crosshairs now.

- They might have the best defensive line in the country. They shredded Florida State’s offensive line for 6 sacks and 10 tackles for a loss. How do you think our chubby freshmen are going to do against them?

- If there is ever going to be a game where Eric Dungey gets carted off the field, this will be it.

- If we have anything like the 3 turnover, 16 penalty game we had vs. Boston College game, forget it. And we could have type of game. Clemson loves to stunt and confuse young offensive linemen and their aggression can certainly force turnovers.

- If they need a field goal they’ve got a guy in Greg Huegel who has kicked 11 of them in 13 tries. It must be nice. Cole Murphy is 8 of 15 with 3 misses inside the 40.

- I haven’t even discussed DeShaun Watson and his friends against our defense. Have we improved? Sure, against the likes of Connecticut, Wake Forest and Boston College. Oh, yeah we had a good game against a good team, Virginia Tech. We also had a horrible game against Notre Dame in that mix. The Tigers will go for the kill immediately. Then we will see how much we’ve improved.

- We’ve already got a scalp in Va Tech. That’s all we are likely to get this first season of the Babers era. The good news is that Clemson and Florida State, while they would be great wins to get, are not the key games. It’s the other two – NC State and Pitt what really count because we are much more likely to win those games and they can get us to our goal. If we can just be somewhat competitive in this one, (which, really we have bene all season), and get Dungey out of there in one piece, we’ll be just fine.

If we were going to beat a team like this at our current juncture, we would be need to extremely healthy and they would need to be in duct tape and bubble gum mode, unfortunately the reverse is true for this game.

Our kids may see 2.5 winnable games (fl st. at home is .5) on the schedule with only 1-2 wins needed to go bowling. In a rebuilding year when a bowl would be such a success, they could be looking over this game as not as important to a large goal (bowl game)

I love the mention of the kicking game. Man, if it gets to the point where Clemson's superior field goal kicking is the decisive element then I will be a happy camper indeed.
