Why didn't we have anybody on the line on Marek's shots?

Agree. Gave them a free shot for the tie

If Marek makes the second to put us up 4, you simply back everyone away. If Marek misses, the ball might just bounce right to us, or at the least it's harder to corral. The worst that happens is there is a foul grabbing the ball, which puts them to the line for 2 shots, under 2 seconds, when we are up 3, which is the right strategy anyway.

Instead of giving a step inside half court heave, you’d rather give Clemson a chance to make the 1st and rebound a missed FT for a put back or potential game winning 3? Really? They offensive rebounded a missed FT with one guy to our four earlier in the game

JB does this almost all the time at the end of a close game...does not want to foul. See 1987 Championship game

So you are assuming that we foul on the miss?

Don’t want them to heave one and someone accidentally fouls in the chaos. Better to be back and just have your hands straight up when they get the ball.

You are correct and that is why there was no one at the foul line. If you could count on your players not to do something dumb, sure. If you could count on the refs to not call something dumb, sure. You can't in both cases.

You don't even need the guy on the line to even make a run to the ball. Have him run right off the line if you want the second the shooter releases it. The point is, when the miss happens the opponent can just let it bounce a few times with no time coming off. That's what happened and it led to a shot that almost banked in. I don't care how far it was from.

Have confidence in your kids to do the right thing and not foul. And younwould realllllly have to foul for a ref to call that. No one on the line and they have clear vision and easily advanced the ball with no restriction. Totally inexcusable
