I played hockey and we weren't grabbing or slapping another guys a$$. Why is it culturally acceptable to slap and yes just watching OSU players actually slapping to the point of grabbing.
We all know the guy that wanted to many hugs when he was drunk. This is what watching basketball players slapping another guys butt reminds me of. He has shoulders, a hand, and many other parts you can slap including the top of their head.
I just find it odd.

Besides, in hockey, the proper way to show affection for a team mate is to pick up their teeth and hand them to them.
There are a bunch of articles discussing it. But no real answers. One guy says it's because you can't high five someone who isn't looking--sounds good to me.
