It all comes back to Lang, the corroborating witness. If you listen to the excerpts ESPN played, you'll notice there wasn't one point where they talked about Davis being a young boy and getting molested by Fine. The closest it comes is when Laurie Fine says that Davis "was just a kid." She also says she helped to screw him up as well as a kid. So what does 'kid' mean? It could simply mean when he was 18 years old.

Beyond that, as many have noted the conversation sounds more like a one sided gay relationship gone bad, instead of molestation.

I'm sure ESPN and The Post Standard heard the same thing in 2002. One witness, one tape that doesn't really imply what we all think it does. That's why they didn't run it then.

They're running it now because they have a second (and now third) alleged victim. In the context of this case it sounds damning. Outside of that context it sounds as if Davis and Fine were in a gay relationship -- or Fine was pushing himself on him. With no reference to age.

This is one of the reasons I HOPE Laurie Fine seemed nonchalant about it. It was a gay relationship and not pedophilia. Otherwise, she is just as much of a monster as Bernie is for condoning it.

Obviously, either way this doesn't look good. I just wonder if that tape on it's own will hold up.

You are exactly right. But, I'm not sure it matters anymore (aside from Bernie's legal case). It's a witch hunt.

Its a total witch hunt. BF is already guilty in the court of public opinion due to high emotions that stem from Sandusky. BF very well may be guilty but none of the evidence I've heard so far seems like a smoking gun. I have not heard the tape but read the excerpts from ESPN. What I find incredulous about that story is the talk of molestation is never quoted. The quotes are vague but implicit and ESPN fills in the parts about molestation. And the 3rd accuser is an even worse story than the first 2. his father even says he is lying about meeting Fine and going to a Pittsburgh game.

I'm no Matlock but I can't see how this "evidence" would stand up in a court of law.

And what the hell was the Secret Service doing at the Fine house?

"Bernie... Please don't do that" "Just kinda made you feel odd"
