- 5-5 doesn’t equal 5-5 when one team’s passing game is crippled and the game is played in the other team’s house. - A win over a 2-8 team, (now 3-8) means nothing. - A week after we gained 221 yards against UNC and lost by 33, Tech gained 635 yards and won by 4. - Tech is up against a wall. A wall named Georgia, their next opponent, who has won two national championships and 25 games in a row. The Jackets would love to beat their traditional rival. So would the Dogs. This is not a ‘trap game. Tech has to win it to go to a bowl. We can win the next week and go to one. - Tech saw the Pitt film and won’t be surprised by the wildcat. Does Dino have any more rabbits in his hat? - It’s not 1923. You can’t win without passing the football – when the other team knows you can’t do it. - Admit it: the ghosts of 14-51 and 0-56 still sleep under your bed. Yes, it could get that bad. Tech 90-122 Total Yards: 1,341-1,605 Rushing: 712-818 Passing: 608-808 Turnovers: 8-3 Comments: GT leads in far more statistics than we do and by substantial margins in some of them. They score a lot more, gain a lot more yards which produces a lot more first downs. The pass with more efficiency, not by a large statistical margin but since our passing attack is now crippled, that’s a large margin, too. They do better on third and fourth down, get into the red zone more and produce more points. They give up fewer sacks and TFLs. They block more kicks and return them farther. They cover punts better. They kick field goals and extra points better. They are penalized less and have played a tougher schedule and have done better against common opponents, largely because they move the ball much better than we do.
