I am staying positive. Terrel Hunt has a magnificent heartwarming story that deserves final redemption and other talents that were likewise injured like Broyld and Estime and John Raymon and Williams won't be.

Last year, on the whole, was a snowball of crap. We know this. There were what ifs all over on the field and Syracuse definitely caught the lion's share of bad bounces and breaks (literally in Hunts case) and yet was highly competitive for a 3-9 teams. Maybe it is just sunlight exposure making me more upbeat, but I feel certain of these precognitive thoughts that this time next year, Syracuse football will be in a much happier place.

If Hunt was going to make a big step forwards, I would have expected to see something a year ago.

Just because they have a great story doesn't mean they are destined for greatness.

The reason why some people have such amazing stories and why they are so revered in the world of sports is because so very few can make it, and as a result so many with exceptional stories fall short and just aren't good enough to get that elusive Hollywood happy ending.

Hopefully he does come back and have a miraculous senior season after learning an innumerable amount about offensive football by watching from the booth the second half of this season, but I'd say it's unlikely at best based on last years performance

Remember our high expectations for Nassib his junior year, because of his sophmore year? Remember how they imploded his junior year, and everyone wanted Nassib benched? Remember Nassibs senior year when there were low expectations due to his junior year? Kids can, and do improve. None of us have a crystal ball. I would not be shocked to see hunt turn into a game managing, dual threat qb.

Good point. Hunt was the offense last year, even if it sputtered under McDonald's incapableness. He had a knack of avoiding the sack and picking up first downs. Plus, he was one of the few guys who was able to make it to the endzone consistently.

It's not all on Hunt either. It would have been somewhat helpful if his receivers could have held on to balls thrown directly to them. No wonder Hunt ran so much-- I think he was frustrated by all the drops.
This struck a note when I read it. I wonder (no way of every knowing except what we see in the beginning of the season if Hunt is the starter) what the end of the year Ish and Hunt would have been like. I remember Ish first big catch in spring ball. He hadn't had much thrown his way or was running with the 1sts at the time but was pretty impressive as he caught it on the sideline for a 40 yard gain while falling down and all the players on his side were celebrating. I think it was one of his own DL that tackled him on the sideline as they were jumping around chest bumping.

I would have expected Rak to have made his jump from soph to Jr year as well. This year he is a likely AA candidate.

Improvement doesn't happen in a straight line. We will have a winning record this year and regain the momentum we have built over the last 5 years.

I don't see 8 wins but with 3 extremely winnable OOC games and home games against Pitt, Wake, BC we should be back to a bowl game.

My view of the games must have been off. I'm shocked to learn hunt was throwing directly at receivers. From my view they were behind, low, and high, or just plain over thrown. He may be able to run but his accuracy is bad and that is a big problem. it wouldn't surprise me to see someone over take hunt.

Having receivers like Steve, Ashton, Brisly, Erv, Jamal, Trey, Adly, rather then last years cast of characters, should help the offense greatly. You also have some size in their to block, we didn't have last year. Sometimes you end up better by subtraction, the leadership of last years team, didn't seem to be there.
