if Ollie is the heir apparent? I can't imagine it's b/c they didn't want to hurt Blaney's feelings.

If the Bernie scandal had not occurred, and JB missed some games, would BF have taken the helm?

I was going to ask the exact same question in that other UConn thread. When JB did miss some games several years ago, BF was named acting HC but Hop did all the coaching. BF just sat there with his clipboard still. For years Hop has run practice too until about when they scrimmage and JB gets in there. Even the TV show has Hop on it.

Good question. Watching the UConn games, it looks like Blaney is the guy doing the coaching as well. This would be a great opportunity to see what Ollie will do when he becomes the HC, if he indeed does get the job as expected. His coaching career consists of serving as an assistant at UConn since 2010.

Ollie is the 2nd best BE player from Crenshaw HS, after SU alum Stevie Thompson. They might want to consider hiring Thompson and letting Ollie be one of his assistants. He has a lot more experience and a lot more hoops acumen.

I think we have all asked that question. I just can't see what they are gaining by having Blaney as the acting head coach.
