- Because we are a crippled team. According to the paper, (or what used to be the paper), 13 different players who were projected as starters are unavailable due to injury, Covid (or NFL) opt-outs and the NCAA, including our lone All-American, our starting quarterback, our MIKE and our four top running backs.
- Because Liberty is a coming power with a lot of money behind them who isn’t looking to be Group of 5. They want to be an evangelical Notre Dame and this game is a big stepping stone for them.
- Because we just got dominated by an 0-4 team and here comes a 4-0 team.
- Because a team with no running game just ran for 363 yards against us. The Flames run for 251 yards per game.
- Malik Willis, their QB, has been described by Dino Babers as “possibly the fastest guy on the field”. He’s averaging 7.2 yards per carry. Our three-man line will have a hard time keeping him the pocket. Our young linebackers and defensive backs will tend to over-commit and have had problems tackling.
- Running back Joshua Mack, from the Rochester are, is averaging 6.1 yard per carry.
- You saw those two passes Rex threw into the ground against Pittsburgh. Did he look like a guy who can lead us to victory?
- Liberty has been looking for a win over an ACC opponent for a while now and every man on their team will run into the Dome tomorrow believing that today will be their day.
