- Because almost always do when they play Syracuse. Here’s the history of the series: Syracuse vs North Carolina State 1869-2019
In 2013 they were wiped out by injuries. In 2018 our best team of this century won a shoot-out against them. It’s 2020 and we are wiped out by injuries and as far from our 2018 as we can be.
- While we are just waiting for the season to end, the Pack have won 2 in a row and made themselves bowl eligible at 6-3 with only us and the one team we beat Georgia Tech left to play. They’ve beaten four teams that beat us: Wake Forest, Pittsburgh, Duke and Liberty. That’s a huge difference in confidence.
- The Pack has scored 30+ points 6 times. We’ve done it once and that was before we had 3 injured quarterbacks. We are last in the ACC in scoring offense, total offense, run defense, rushing offense, passing offense, time of possession and third down conversions. That makes it hard to beat anyone.
- An NC State pundit on SB nation had this to say: “I hate Syracuse. Have always hated them. Syracuse is Clemson if Clemson stunk at everything. Beat Syracuse.“ Ugh.
