Why is it, every time Syracuse pulls a major upset, some other game has to upstage OUR game?

What game has you bothered?

He is referencing A&M-Bama and the #1 team probably going down. Mantonio I gotta say I was thinking of you during the beatdown we gave Louisville after all your optimism about the future of the program, you earned today's performance.

Today's win was great, but it wasn't going to be a shock-the-nation story. Just enjoy it for what it's worth!

Stop whining. And since when is a home team winning as a slight underdog considered a major upset?

I still remember the '98 Michigan game. We blew the defending national champions, (who had 9 defensive starters back) out of their own Big House. But, leading 38-7, we sent in the reserves and Michigan got three quick scores to make the final 38-28. All the national headlines were about NC State beating Florida State in Raleigh. It made me wish we had floored it and won 52-14 or something like that.

One of those things you remember.

I remember. I was in the stands in the endzone with other SU fans watching a game played out in the second half to a less-than-half-filled audience in the ugly house. McNabb gave their fat guys fits. I wish he had played the whole game, especially since Tom Brady was playing for Mich. By the end of the game, we were playing third-stringers.

Thanks for the kind words.

We have entered what I call the frustrating phase of the program's resurgence. If you have seen the teams from the middle of the past decade, you can understand there IS a difference in their present performance level on the field, but not often readily apparent on the scoreboard.

What I remember about that game is the superhuman play McNabb made with his feet to score that TD through a Wolverine bee hive. He stepped forward in the pocket, & then shuttled backwards faster than the Michigan defense could go forward. Then he smoked them all in a cloud of dust !!!

Does anyone have that video clip?

Our win really wasn't a major upset. The line was close, many picked us to win, I think quite a few SU fans expected to win. We are probably better than our record, and you can't knock 9-1 but Louisville has hardly looked like a juggernaut. Both teams could easily be 7-3 right now.

On the other hand, it was nice of Kansas to lose to Bucknell right after SU lost to Vermont.
