- Because they are better than we are. Their offense is 17th in the country, averaging 468 yards a game. We are 96th with 339 yards per game. Their defense is 34th in the country with 345 yards per game, (more than we are gaining), and ours is 59th, giving up 382 yards per game. They are #1 in the country with 9 tackles for a loss per game. And #2 in sacks with 3/5 per game. We have trouble protecting the quarterback and Ryan Nassib turns into Cameron Dantley when under pressure.
- They recruit all that speed in Florida and we have the perfect venue- for them.
- B.J. Daniels has learned to pass the ball. He’s 160 for 269 for 2027 yards, 12TD vs. 5 interceptions. And he’s rushed the ball for 440 yards. He’s just the sort of mobile quarterback that always drives us crazy.
- I know Bill Parcells said you have the record you deserve. But if you are preparing to play a team you need to look beyond it. They lost by 6 at UCONN on a defensive touchdown. They lost in the last 12 seconds vs. Cincinnati. They lost to Rutgers in overtime despite holding them to -7 yards rushing. This team could easily be 7-1, which was what was expected when they were ranked #2 in the conference pre-season. That’s who we are playing. This isn’t a battle of bottom-feeders.
- It’s becoming increasingly obvious that the West Virginia game was an anomaly and that we are just a team that can’t gets out of it’s own way, plays in spurts and never has everything working at the same time. We aren’t an Orange. We’re a Lemon and I don’t mean Alec.
- Doug Marrone wants the same atmosphere as we had for the West Virginia game. After losing two road games we should have won and on an ugly weather day, he won’t get it.
