-Penn State may be ready to carry on the momentum of their 8-2 finish last year but I think we will be able to carry on the momentum we had from our 6-1 finish. I think we actually have more coming back than they do. I think we’ll be fine at quarterback and in the line. The receivers and the defensive ends are the biggest concern. We’ll be strong in the running game and the back seven on defense.
-Penn State lost a lot from their front seven. They may be vulnerable to our biggest strength- the running game.
-I think the Shafer/Bullough defense will be the best we’ve had since the 2010 pinstripe bowl team. Big and strong up front and fast behind it. Rooting for an offense can be exciting. But rooting for a defense that continually frustrates the other team and makes big plays is fun.
-I think Morris and McFarland will give a dynamic kick-off returning game and even if the Salt Badger doesn’t see a punt, I liked the look of Richie Desir late least year.
- Penn State is thin and has been avoiding contact in practice. We need to make contact with them from the first snap and keep doing it the whole game.
-I think our kids will respond well to Shafer, McDonald and Bullough. They are pretty good football coaches, too.
