- Do this math: Wake Forest 34 Maryland 10. Syracuse 13 Wake Forest 0.

- Our defense has done pretty good when not facing a top passing game or the triple option. Our pass defense seems to have gotten better. I focused on the backfield vs. Wake and nobody was running open. We are also getting much better pressure on the quarterback.

- Maryland is still another team with problems at quarterback. C. J. Brown has been hurt and had bee ineffective when he could play since the 4-0 start, which was largely against lesser opposition. In that respect he’s not unlike Terrel Hunt, who looked good against Wagner and Tulane but then hit the windshield. Something similar has happened with Brown, whose best games were vs. Florida International and Old Dominion.

- The Terps, for the second straight year, have been wiped out by injuries. They have two defensive backs, a linebacker, two wide receivers, an offensive linemen and three defensive linemen out for the season and another wide receiver, linebacker and defensive back out for this game. Still another linebacker, defensive back and offensive linemen are “questionable”.

- And so is their kicker, which could matter in a close game. Last week we were witho9ut our kicker and it didn’t matter. This time the shoe is (literally) on the other foot and it might matter this week. They are not the team that started 4-0.

- Hopefully the coaches will look at that drive that opened the second half and realize that we need to open the game that way: 11 runs in 14 plays and the first score we’d had in 7 quarters. Do what you do best and use that to set up the rest!

- I have a feeling this is going to look an awful lot like the NC State game.

4-4 with 4, (or 5) to be

LET’S GO ORANGE!

A lot more positive than recent weeks ... and I agree. A big plus in this game would be seeing a more consistent, and effective, offense.
