- Take a look at Maryland's helmet. It looks like it's upside down already.
- Here’s what Maryland has done this year: blow out James Madison, (he’s just one guy, he was only 5 feet 4 inches tall and was not in good health when he died in 1836:
http://www.doctorzebra.com/prez/g04.htm ) , beaten South Florida on a blocked punt and lost to West Virginia, a team that gained 694 yards on them. Does that scare you?
- They don’t have the offensive injuries they had last year. Instead they have defensive injuries. All four starting linebackers are hurt and so is a defensive end. They aren’t necessarily out but they are less than 100%. They are going to have a hard time dealing with our running attack. And their secondary gave up 511 yards. We won’t need 511 yards to win this game but the pass will be there if we need it.
- Maryland ran for 163 yards vs. West Virginia. CJ Brown got 161 yards of that, 75 on one play. Last year he got 5 yards in 15 “carries”, (which includes sacks). Maryland got 2 yards on 9 carries from the rest of their team.
- I just heard a radio interview with a radio reporter saying that one of Maryland’s biggest problems is their offensive line, which not only can’t block for their runners but allowed two sacks and many pressures in the West Virginia game. That’s good news to Chuck Bullough’s ears.
- We may be mediocre but that doesn’t mean we’re going to stay that way. A lot of things seem to be coming together for this team- a maturing Hunt, a remuda of outstanding running back, a healthy offensive line, a strong defense, great punting and some fast guys who haven’t really broken out yet. We’ve seen only a couple page s of the playbook so far. It’s going to be fun when we see it all.
- Gut feeling: not only do we win, but we do it in a way that will show people something. The Villanova game will quickly become a very distant memory.
2-0 with 10+ to go…..
LET’S GO ORANGE!!!
