Why SYRACUSE will win

-  Because we are much better than Wake Forest. We have more weapons on offense and are at least as good on defense. We shut them out last year after Campanaro got hurt and he isn’t even on this team. We’ll do it again.

-  Our defensive line is paper thin but their offensive line is made of the stuff. They have given up 24 sacks and have produced 1 yard per carry on rushing plays. One. Yard. Per Carry.

-  Wake is averaging 31 yards rushing per game and they haven’t thrown a touchdown pass in a month. That’s a bad combination.

-  We have scored 9 TDs in 23 trips to the red zone. That’s bad but Wake Forest is worse at 7 for 18. These are two frustrated, and frustrating teams.

-  Last year’s game featured 23 punts in 30 possessions. We have one of the best punters in the country in Riley Dixon (42.6). Of course they’ve got Alexander Kinal who is even better, at least in gross yards at 43.3. That might be an interesting contest but I really like our guy with his versatility.

-  Prince-Tyson Gulley is getting better with every game and is going to finish his career here in style. Wake’s 4-2-5 set-up is made to order for him to have a big day.

-  Wake may have a good defense but they don’t have more talented players than Notre Dame or Florida State. We gained 400+ yards on both those teams. We’ll get at least that vs. Wake. Now we need to figure out how to turn that into points.

-  I think Dave Clawson will have success at Wake, just as Jim Grobe did, but with a different, more exciting approach. Right now is the time to beat his team and we will do it.

-  AJ Long is the star who will turn this program around and make Syracuse football fun again. It begins now.
