Why was the Giants parade held in New York City?

I will never understand, for the life of me, why a franchise located in a different state holds its victory parade in a city it is not a part of. Or why the Giants are called the 'New York Giants.' Same for the Jets.

You do realize they used to play in NY originally right?

And, they had a celebration in the lots around Giants Stadium (it will NEVER be MetLife Statdium - no matter how much the JV wants it to be).

It was nucking futs taking a train downtown from Penn Station around 9:30 this morning.

Long before SU became NYC's College Football Team...

The Giants were NYC's Pro Football Team.

Still are.

Always Giants stadium.

Still, it sure must take some air out of the sails of NYC folks that the Giants are in NJ.

why wouldnt it be??? you stooppid frucking troll???

good lord, do we have to go over this again???

i guess being from philly, you cant be that smart anywho.

therefore we will let it go, knowing full well that you will forever be too much of an idiot, to figure out why.

It's very simple. East Rutherford is in the New York City metropolitan area; just like Orchard Park is in Buffalo's metropolitan area and Arlington is in Dallas' metropolitan area. Must we insist that they be called the Orchard Park Bills and the Arlington Cowboys?

Foxboro was all geared up for the big victory parade had the Pat's won. Nobody told them it was going to be held in Boston.

Why was the Giants parade held in NYC?

Because the Boston Patriots lost.

I know this response is late but having lived in NJ for many years I can say there are no cities that make a big parade look good in NJ . You might as well throw confetti off of a curb in NJ. not quite the effect you are looking for Have it in Newar k and the trophy gets stolen about the second 100yards of the parade at gun point. As far as the name of the team I fully agree it should be the NJ Giants but I understand the problem.Afiliation with NJ is useless unless you happen to be a comedian telling a stink joke about the state. Or a joke about the fat governor like Letterman does nightly. Of course Letterman pounds Romney for strapping his dog on car trips. to the top of his car.
